An ode to fabric, atmosphere, and skin.
We created SARDIN to explore the tactile relationship between the fabric we carry, the air we move through, and the skin we wear. It was through understanding this dynamic that we realized how activewear truly moves with us in our busy world.
Our practice starts with the meticulous selection of performance fabrics that provide compression and ventilation together with delicate softness that remains kind to the skin. In our practice, we have curated two fabrics that form the basis of our designs: Tetra and Danio. Our Tetra fabric is designed to provide impact support and compression while our Danio fabric prioritizes flexibility and ventilation.
For our movement pieces, we decided to design for the most challenging of climates. By studying the interaction between air and skin, we've utilized our fabrics to facilitate this exchange of energy through the air that surrounds our bodies. Our piece actively wick excess moisture from the skin, keeping the body dry and well ventilated, and leaving you feeling fresh relaxed all day.
Ultimately, our skin remains our only channel of interaction with what we wear. Understanding the importance of this, we've developed patterns for our pieces that allow them to drape elegantly around the body. Our silhouettes allow every part of the fabric to gently cover the skin and provide support and flexibility when needed. This tailored-like fit also enables our pieces to fit well with other garments when layered.
By supporting the relationship between fabric, atmosphere, and skin we are able to design movement pieces for the modern woman in-flux. With our activewear, we remove the friction of transition — bridging high-performance fabrics with sophisticated wellness to keep her entirely present throughout the day.
